A Reintroduction...
BikeNetSTL is now on Substack
Dear supporters,
The last time we connected may have been via my personal email or the BikeNetSTL Instagram account. Due to some new Meta policies, I question the future of BikeNetSTL on Instagram. I already removed my personal accounts. Thanks to a few recommendations from supporters, I moved my email lists over to Substack.
Substack will allow me to focus on creating more long form content that allows me to explore my vision with fewer barriers. This may mean fewer but more detailed posts.
With that being said, I would like to reintroduce myself and my cause:
I am Malik. I lived in the St. Louis area my entire life, and I currently live in the Benton Park West neighborhood. I do not own a car nor do I long to own a car. I primarily get around by bus, MetroLink, bike, or foot. I am currently a member of the Community Advisory Committee for the Sustainability and Climate Plan which I originally joined to center sustainable transportation options and corporate accountability.
BikeNetSTL is the platform I use to focus on advocacy for sustainable transportation. It was started specifically to acknowledge the desire for a bike network. It is not an organization, and I do not intend to mislead people into believing that it is. On the other hand, the mission may be adopted by any supporters who believe in it.
I will be in touch soon with an update including a few requests for support. I ask that you keep your eyes peeled in the meantime as I work on a few tasks related to this update.
I appreciate everyone who dares to dream with me.
Thank you.
